Dan and Angie Lawry, Directors (8th yr.): Dan grew up in Claremont, NH and earned his
degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University. Dan and Angie have 5 small
children (Kate almost 8 yrs, Paul 6yrs, Grace 5yrs, Esther 3yrs, Peter 1yr) and are expecting
their 6th in September. For the past 10.5 years, he and his family have lived in the
Schenectady, NY area
while he has been employed at Power Technologies, Inc. Dan attended Camp Pattersonville
as a camper and served as a Counselor for 2 years. Dan and his family are active at
First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady. Dan serves in the children's ministries and at
the Schenectady County jail. He has just completed his second year as a graduate student
at Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary. Dan's interests include woodworking, outdoor
activities, music, and developing projects andideas. Angie grew up in Rexford, NY and she
earned her degree in Music/Voice from The College of St. Rose. Angie is a homeschooling
mom to their 5 children, and is expecting their 6th in September. She also attended Camp
Pattersonville as a camper and was a Junior Staff member, and she served as a
counselor for 2 summers and as the Assistant Cook and Cook. Angie has served in the
children's department and music ministry at First Pres. She is active in the Mom's
Fellowship and Bible study group and a weekly homeaschooling group where she has taught
several music classes. Angie enjoys music, camping, cooking and baking, reading, and crafts.
Dan and Angie will be returning for their 8th summer as Directors this year.
MALE COUNSELORS
Mark Degeneff (1st yr.): Mark grew up in Niskayuna,NY and graduated from LaSalle
Institute. He is active at First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady where he plays drums
on the Youth Praise Team and has participated in a short-term missions trip to Mexico. In
the fall, Mark will be studying engineering at RPI and plans to join ROTC. Mark has served
as Junior Staff at Camp Pattersonville for the past 3 summers, and this is his first year
on Senior Staff.
Jami Farnum (1st yr.): Jami spent the first many years of his childhood in
Rexford, NY, before his family moved to Greenville SC, While living here, he attended the
First Presbyterian Church, where his grandmother, Elinore Farnum, is the organist. He also
spent a summer at Camp Pattersonville as a "staff kid” while his mother worked as the cook.
He now attends Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church. Jami just completed his freshman year at
Clemson University. He served on a short term
missions team last summer with Campus Outreach.
Bryan Monty (5th yr.): Bryan is a native of the Capital District and attended
Camp Pattersonville as a camper for many years, along with his siblings and extended family.
Bryan is a graduate of Hope College where he earned his bachelor's degree in History with
a minor in Youth Ministries. Bryan was involved in the Junior Staff program at Camp
Pattersonville and this is his fifth summer serving as counselor. Bryan attends Lisha's Kill
Reformed Church. He enjoys sports, outdoor activities,
and working with young people. He plans to go on to attend seminary in the future.
David Rankin (2nd year): David lives in High Falls, NY and attends Living Word
Chapel. He helps with the drama program at the church. He came to Pattersonville as a
camper. He enjoys primitive outdoor camping and is knowledgeable in woodworking and
wildlife. David just
completed his Freshman year at Elim Bible Institute.
FEMALE COUNSELORS
Jessica Snider (3rd year): Jessica grew up in Schenectady and has just completed
her Associates Degree in Elementary Education at SCCC. Jessica
attended Camp Pattersonville as a camper and served as Junior Staff for a number of years.
This will be her third summer serving as a counselor. Jessica attends Lisha's Kill
Reformed Church where she is active in the children's ministry. She enjoys model
construction, painting and drawing, and working with young children.
Leah Lasher (1st year): Lean grew up in Dolgeville, NY and attends Grace Baptist
Church. As the oldest of several siblings, she has a great deal of experience working with
young children. Lean also has volunteered in the VBS ministry at her church and enjoys
babysitting. She Just completed her Freshman year at Robert's Wesleyan College.
Rebekah Farnum (1st year): Like her brother Jami, Rebekah spent her early
childhood in Rexford. NY and attended First Presbyterian Church, and is
Granddaughter to Elinore Farnum, the church organist. She also spent a summer at Camp
Pattersonville as a “staff kid” while her mother worked as the cook. She now attends
Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC. Rebekah enjoys working with children
and spent last summer running 5-day clubs as a summer
missionary for Child Evangelism Fellowship. Rebekah also enjoys art and outdoor activities.
She will be attending Clemson University in the fall.
Marie Denio (2nd year): Marie grew up in Schaghticoke, NY and has just completed
her Sophomore year at Cedarville University, where she is majoring in Business. Marie
served as a Junior Staff member at Camp Pattersonville in 1999 and 2000 and as a Counselor
in 2003. She is active in the AWANA program. Marie enjoys a number of sports.
Heldi Massingill (1st year): Heidi lives in Baraboo, Wl and attends Walnut Hill
Bible Church where she volunteers with the children's ministries. She is the
granddaughter of Gerry Massingill of First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady and her
father, Lee, was a counselor at Camp Pattersonville when he was her age. Heldi attends
Madison Area Technical College for Graphic Design. She really enjoys being creative,
working with her hands, biking, and reading.
AUXILIARY STAFF
Meredith Bodenstab, Water Safety Instructor (2nd year): Meredith grew up in
Glenville, NY and has just completed her Junior year at Concordia College, where she is
studying psychology. Meredith spent 4 summers at Sacandaga Bible Conference serving as a
lifeguard and counselor and served as the WSI at Camp
Pattersonville last summer. She has also worked at the Parkside YMCA as a lifeguard.
Meredith is active a Zion Lutheran Church, where she has served in various capacities,
including short-term missions. She plays the piano and enjoys playing softball.
Virginia Augustine, Health Director (1st year): Ginny and her husband live in
Scotia and attend Grace Chapel. During the school year, she works as a substitute school
nurse in the Schalmont school district. Ginny and her husband have 2 children, ages 10 and
12, who have attended Camp Pattersonville for a few years.
Kate (Greensitt) Humphries, Cook (5th year): Kate grew up in Rexford, NY and
earned her bachelor’s degree in math from Houghton College. She also holds a degree in
culinary arts from Schenectady County Community College. Kate served as the cook at Camp
Pattersonville from 1998-2001 and served as assistant cook and Junior Staff before that.
She and her husband,Dave, were married in March and now live In Alplaus, NY. They attend
Faith Baptist Church, where they are active with the youth ministry. Kate enjoys cooking
and spending time with her husband.
Keisha Shaut, Assistant Cook (2nd year): Keisha lives with her family in
Johnsville, NY. She attends First Presbyterian Church, where she participates in the choir,
youth activities, and helps in the nursery. Keisha graduated from Mohawk Valley Christian
Academy and plans to attend Houghton College in the fall.
Mandy Klint, Nanny (5th year): Mandy grew up in Rexford, NY and has been involved
at Camp Pattersonville since she was a baby. Mandy and her family spent about 10 summers
at camp while her mom served as camp nurse. Mandy was a camper and a Junior Staff member.
Mandy just graduated from Robert's Wesleyan College with a degree in Elementary and Special
Education, and is now pursuing her Master's degree in Special Education. Mandy served as a
counselor at Camp for the past 4 summers. She attends First Presbyterian Church where she
has helped out in various capacities in the children's department. Mandy plays the
clarinet and enjoys card making, learning about nature, crafts, and music. and working with
children. She would one day like to teach in a foreign country.
Donald Woods, Handyman (4th year): Donald lives in Schenectady and attends First
Presbyterian Church. He served as the handyman at Camp Pattersonville from 1999-2001. He
has worked in many maintenance positions over the past 24 years and is currently serving at
the Schenectady City Mission.
